November 12, 2008 - 8:16 am - Posted by admin

If you are traveling to Florida for the holidays there are so many things to do. Two things you must add to your itinerary include Dinosaur World in Plant City and the Silver Springs Nature Park.

There are many things to do in Florida. The most popular location to travel to during the holidays is Orlando because of the big Walt Disney World attraction. People love to see the huge assortment of decorated artificial Christmas trees and the streets lined with lights. When you go to Florida this year there are many other places you can travel to.

Dinosaur World is an amazing destination in plant city. You can enjoy viewing more than 150 life like dinosaurs. This museum is situated outdoors. The dinosaurs are accurate as possible as they are designed by scientists. You will walk through this amazing attraction through natural landscaping and dinosaurs spread throughout. As you view each dinosaur you will be able to read information about the type of each creature and a little history on each.

If you are traveling with your children to Dinosaur World during the holidays they will love to decorate an artificial Christmas tree. However, they will also love to take part of the fossil dig at the theme park. Each child is allowed to dig for a fossil and they are allowed to take home up to three fossils they dig up. Your child can act as a young paleontologist and uncover a full size stegosaurus located in the bone yard.

The Silver Springs Nature Park is another location in Florida you should add to your itinerary. This is a nature park that is over 350 acres. The best attraction is the glass bottom boat where you can take a ride down the pure waters of the springs. You will see the beautiful wildlife, Christmas trees, and can even enjoy numerous animal shows that occur throughout the day. There are many animal exhibits which include the Big Gator Lagoon, the Panther Prowl, World of Bears, and more. Many of the attractions you can enjoy here include the Wilderness Trail, Lighthouse Ride, Endangered Species Carousel, Lost River Voyage, and many more. The cost of admission is $36.50 for adults. If you have a go Orlando card you will get a discount.

There is so much to do when you travel to Florida for the holidays. Two places you might consider include the Dinosaur World and the Silver Springs Nature Park. These two locations are not open on Christmas day so you will have to plan around the holidays. There are many things you can enjoy when you travel to these two outdoor adventure parks in Florida. Your children will have a lot of fun and it is a great way to break away from the chaos you will go through at Walt Disney World. These two locations are an excellent way to provide a learning experience as you have a lot of fun too. Be sure to bring your Go Orlando card for discounts too.

Reasons To Embrace a Florida Vacation

June 15, 2008 - 4:45 pm - Posted by admin

One of my friends is currently learning how to become a US citizen and is wrangling with US immigration in order to make the US her adopted country. At the same time, she’s taking classes and working on her own Internet marketing consultant business. She’s busy, but not so busy that we couldn’t recently take a vacation to Florida. Vacationing with my friend and seeing Florida from a whole new perspective, I quickly realized that there are so many things to love about the state:

The people. I was surprised that even in a state that sees a heavy influx of visitors and tourists each year, friendliness and kindness are still paramount. Everyone asked my friend were she was from, and went out of their way to make her feel welcome. Plus, we received exceptional customer service at our hotel resort, at the local amusement parks, and at the beaches. We were treated like VIPs, even though we were on a budget.

The climate. It was wonderful to travel during the fall months and still experience a pleasant warmth. There were evenings where we only needed a light sweater, and of course days filled with sunshine. We were partly just lucky — Florida does get its fair share of rain and winds and even cold in the winter — but it was wonderful to see the stunning sunsets, wonderful weather, and really be able to enjoy them.

The attractions. We are convinced that we can return to Florida every year and never be able to exhaust all the entertainment and attractions of the place. From museums, art galleries, shops, cafés, beaches, to the thousands of tourist attractions, Florida never has a dull moment. Whether you’re a night owl or an early bird, there are attractions and interesting things to see and do. Never mind New York — Florida is the place that never sleeps. Plus, some of the attractions we saw were just amazing. The newest rides at Disney world make use of technology that is truly amazing and at one park we were able to swim with dolphins. We had plenty of once-in-a-lifetime experiences on our vacation.

The beauty. Florida offers wonderful sites and stunning natural beauty. We were expecting to see a lot of amusement parks, theme parks, and the rest. While there was certainly a lot of that, we were pleasantly surprised to see all the green spaces in Florida. In fact, speaking to people from Florida we learned that there are many programs afoot in order to preserve Florida’s natural beauty. There are also many eco tours and green tour operators, so if you want to see Florida’s green spaces, you can head out to see them via boat or on walking tours. It’s a great alternative to the usual tourist destinations.

The history. There are plenty of museums in Florida that teach you about the fascinating people who founded the state and made it what it is today. We visited a museum and learned that explorers arriving in the New World thought the fountain of youth was in Florida.
