If you’re visiting Florida, you are lucky indeed. Florida is considered one of the country’s best getaways, in part for its natural beauty and in part for warm weather. In the winter, especially, if you’re living someplace with cold winters, Florida’s mild winters can be a wonderful haven. The gentle breezes on the coastal areas and the warm gentle showers that Florida is blessed with during the winter really do seem like paradise when you are getting away from a harsh winter.

When packing for your Florida getaway, make sure to bring an umbrella and raincoat. Rain is very common in this state. If you are traveling to Florida in the summer, keep in mind that heavy rains are also quite common. If you’re traveling to a popular tourist destination such as Disney World, you don’t have to worry. Florida attractions always make accommodations for the weather, and there are plenty of things to see and do even in torrential downpours that the state is known for.

Of course, if you’re visiting Florida for the first time, you may be interested in Florida’s famous waterparks and theme parks. For example, Disney World is considered one of the best attractions for families in the entire world. It is certainly one of the most popular tourist destinations in Florida. However, don’t miss Sea World, Wet and Wild, and Discovery Cove in Orlando. These are great attractions that are perfect for couples, honeymoons, children, and families. Myrtle Beach is another very popular attraction in Florida. If you are in Ocala, be sure to visit Wild Waters and Silver Springs. If you’re interested in something different, be sure to take an airboat ride through the swamps. You can see these at Everglades National Park, a park that is sure to spark your imagination with its unique swamp terrain. Be sure to set aside plenty of time when visiting Florida – there is so much to see and do that you will be disappointed unless you give yourself lots of time to explore the state.

While in Florida, you will certainly want to try the local cuisine. Local Florida food is in fact a combination of Spanish, African, Southern, Cuban and Caribbean foods. Food in Northern Florida tends to be food that is more influenced by Southern cooking while Florida’s south has food that is heavily influenced by Caribbean cuisine. Fresh seafood from the coast and fresh vegetables and fruits from Florida’s temperate climate mean delicious, fresh foods year-round. Florida grows many tropical fruits, including oranges, grapefruit, avocado, mango, papaya, passion fruit, kumquat, coconut, and others. These are often served fresh in restaurants and at roadside stands. When traveling in Florida, be sure to try alligator, a unique local delicacy, and Key lime pie, which was invented in Florida.

While in Florida, be sure to check out major cities such as Miami, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale. Each of these cities have a huge selection of shops, bars, nightclubs, and much more. From unique boutiques to art galleries, these urban centers offer much to see and do.

With beautiful natural spots, urban centers with hot nightclubs, and much more, Florida offers a wealth of choices and plenty of excitement for both travelers and residents. If you are lucky enough to spend some time in this great state, make sure you enjoy every moment.
